My initial student loans were with US Dept of Ed. They transferred the loans to FED Loan Service. FLS never contacted me regarding the transferred loans, nor did US Dept of Ed. Now I have some neg Notations: 30-60-90. The status of the loans at that time, just went into a limbo state. I discovered the transfer when I accessed my account with US Dept of Ed And was told the loans were transferred to FSL.
Will a Good Will to FLS get those Neg notations removed from my report since, I was not notified of the transfers? And if so, does anyone have a Contact.
Personally, I believe a Good Will should be given since potential employers oftentimes access our CR prior to a job offer, if any offer will be determined by credit history; for which that new job would pay that student loan bill...
Proof that you sent payments and they were accepted or rejected by the previous servicing agent after the loans were transferred would help greatly. Without proof that you were still trying to pay who you had been paying, it might be kind of hard to convince them that you were unaware of the transfer. If you were using any auto-debit then I would ask them why the auto-debits details were not transferred. If your address on file with the original servicing agent was out of date, again, it might be more difficult to convince the new agent of anything since everyone most likely tried to contact you via your old address.
Sorry for the late reply. Yes. All my student loans have been in good standing prior to the transfer. The loans are only related to gradudate school. about $6000. However, FSL does not consolidate the loans in the tradional manner. therefore all the loans are separate yet paymens are combined to make one lump payment.
I was thinking of paying off the individual SL down to 30 % then request a GW on late payments.
Sure, if you've got the money it's not a bad thing. And a GW can't hurt.
