Wells Fargo Principal Only payment

Hello, asking for a friend here, but does anyone know of a way that Wells Fargo will allow Principal Only payments while in school? He called in and secure messaged but they are giving the run around.

Not sure, but out of curiosity what is the benefit? Does the interest not capitalize? Because on would think that if the interest capitalizes, paying any amount down on the principal while it's accruing interest or in the interest so it doesn't capitalize is in effect the same thing.
