What should I include in a GW.

I'm really trying to get back on the right track with my credit and have taken care of most of my larger balances on my credit cards, but I have some student loans that I recently put in to deferrment.  I was checking each one and on my credit report they are still showing that they are late.  What should I include in the letter to try and get the late payments off my credit credit report.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't speak to SLs, but there are plenty of success stories in here of GWs leading to the removal of lates and other derog info. Go for it. It only costs a stamp.

Search for "GW Example" or something along those lines for GW examples.

Re: What should I include in a GW.

Many people have said that student loan lenders don't grant GWs, but what do you have to lose, other than a few minutes to type up a letter (only the first time, you can send the same letter over and over) a few minutes to find an address to send it to (maybe a different address, or at least a different name, each time) and the cost of a stamp (which can be avoided if you have your job pay for it!)?

I'm going to be trying soon myself for some lates on my wife's report for loans that were consolidated a few years ago.
