Hi,
there are quite a couple of student loan experts here so hopefully one will chime in. I don't think Nelnet os allowed to do goodwill adjustments, but that's not to say you can't ask. The situation you're describing is not uncommon. Most of us, including myself (8 accounts /reporting 2 90 day lates each from 2013 & 3014) have just decided to wait it out. As time goes on, and if you maximize other scoring factors you can still achieve a decent score before they finally fall off. Once you're a little closer to aging them off you can request early exclusion.

Since then my account has been a good standing for the past 3 years although I havent made a single payment based on the IDRP. Is it worth sending Nelnet a GW letter asking them to remove even though I havent made any payments on the loan?
I swear I had made a response to this
@Anonymous Yep, you sure did respond. It was posted is in both rebuilding and student loan boards. I feel your pain with the lates. Unfortunately, I don't know how to link otherwise I would've. Maybe he'll delete this thread since it's a dup?
There's nothing to be lost by asking them to goodwill the lates, but I doubt it will go through. Student loan servicers rarely goodwill (it happens, just not often, and I haven't heard of any with Nelnet) - they will probably cite the HEA as a reason they won't.

Theres no harm in asking them to remove. I can say my MANY attempts at getting Navient to remove my lates from 2014 has been unsuccessful. I wrote letters, emails, phone calls. Submitted complaints with CFPB and disputed and contacted the ombudsmans office. They refuse to remove them. Even though they are old lates and those loans were closed due to consolidation in 2015. Its so frustrating but I have just decided to accept the fact that those will be there until 2021. Period.
