Re: June 2019 Check-In Thread

Hi all, just checking in. I haven't heard from Capital One about my late removals yet and I'm waiting until my statement cuts to try yet again for a CLI. I've paid multiple times this month so hopefully they show some love. I just got off the phone with a sallie mae agent. I called to check the status of my GW letter and it's a no Smiley Sad She said they have to report everything accurately and would only change information if there were errors. I feel like a deflated balloon. Part of me wishes I never settled but I was younger and scared. I guess I'll be writing another letter!

Re: June 2019 Check-In Thread

Lost my job last week. It came out of nowhere. Lucky for me I stacked massive chips into my 401k past 13 years. Currently, that’s all I got. So this June Credit Challenge is exactly what I need. I gathered my mail, documents, and plans from goals ago. Time to implement.

First off, buh-bye credit card debt.

It’s funny, when living lavida loca, I paid cc bills as I went along with minimal worry. Not today, Not anymore. All those suckers are getting paid in full. I can no longer have anything out standing over my head at this current stage in life. By next month, I’ll only have my mortgage to pay which includes property taxes and homeowners insurance. The Benz is paid off and that’s a fantastic thing.  I’m at a critical state but it is do-able.

I’ll keep you posted. Lets do this!

I achieved 830 scores only 2 years ago before my hell froze over. The heat is on now just got to ride the wave.

Starting Score: 575
Current Score: 689
Goal Score: 830

Re: June 2019 Check-In Thread

Guys. It happened. I finally heard back from capital one! They agreed to remove the 30 day late from 2018 and I’m over the moon. Unfortunately they said they could not remove the lates from 2016 but maybe I’ll try again in a couple months. If only Sallie Mae would have agreed to the GW. Darn. I’m still going to write another letter. I can’t wait for my new report to come out on the 29th!

Happy June to you All.

Yesterday I added my Bronze back....been good for a smidge and then last night, while ordering some parts for the RV, up pops a preapproval for a Rewards Visa or a Visa Signature and I declined.  In the past the pop up would be for the store card....It was hard to not jump on it, still bothers me now. (Darn dangling carrot)

Welp, so much for that!  No Bronze, no nothing for me......that Dandling carrot popped up again last night and I bit.  Thinking of closing some crap cards now.  Sure hope the AA Boogie man don't find me.
