I know you are all hard at work with your credit goals. Have you progressed as far as you hoped? Were there any unforeseen expenses that cropped up and may have thrown you off schedule?
As a reminder, participation in these monthly check-ins is optional but encouraged. The goal is to help keep you on track, so feel free to post your progress updates here. This is a no-judgement zone; feel free to say what's keeping you up at night or give yourself a kudo for having it all together.
Did you hit any potholes or speedbumps? Achieve some milestones, either small or mighty? Change your goals or add new ones?
Let us know how you're doing!
Love the fall of the year with cool days, Haloween nights with the trees trying to clutch at full moon. Telling ghost stories or celebrating October Fest around a campfire ring. Don't forget the ride of the headless horseman
On to the subject at hand, see a stable and hopefully long quiet period. Closed out one investment program and one financial. Not seeking any new credit offerings. Did complete an auto refi back to August 2024 (can't remember if reported).
The financial industry is shaping up to do some serious rearranging and new opportunities are likely. One that could save Discover Financial might even open up competition in the network side of things. US Bank has a new teaser card (wait listing).
While all this is most interesting, I need to Garden and let my scores return to the higher category ... they surely did not like my rearrangement.
Well much to my surprise! Fico 08 increased by "1" point and I rejoined the status of "Excellence" ...
Into the garden for while after a string of CLIs and approvals, which put me at 4/24
my one baddie went bye bye last month.
My scores are pretty well cemented in the 750s and 60s
Just going to hang out in the garden for now and let my scores and limits grow.
Unless something really interesting sub wise pops up that is.
Another month gone by, another month spent in the garden. Not even a CLI this time.
Nothing really on the radar at present for an app, but AmEx is getting rather pushy with their ads for Platinum… both personal and business. I just can't see a way to make a nearly $700 in AF work out given my mix of spend.
The local pumpkin patch has several home-made anti-aircraft style air cannons that shoot pumpkins across a field at targets. Planning to go there for the annual visit. They announced again that they are cashless, so that is the (admittedly weak) link to this topic.
I am still celebrating from reaching a 721 Experian Vantage 3 score last month. My current scores are 730 with Experian FICO 8, 727 Transunion FICO 8, and 723 Experian Vantage 3. Chase Credit Journey says that I can reach a 729 Experian Vantage 3 if I pay down my balances another $850 so that is the next step for me. I should be able to do this by the end of November. After that, Citi AAdvantage keeps sending me mailers to apply, so I will probably do that in late November.
Hi, everyone!
It's another pretty standard month for me, other than the fact that I paid off both of my cards this month, which caused my EX8 to fall from 744 to 728. My EQ8 is at 754 and EQ9 is at 767. I imagine those scores are probably going to temporarily fall in November before I can get back to having my usual 1% utilization on my SavorOne.
See you all next month!
Hi all!
This is the best time of year--I love everyone's fall updates. I have been working on my art work more than work-work, but I've made progress in the job hunting/career planning sphere, and that is really my main focus these days, financial-wise.
In terms of credit, I had a "bad" moment, when my installment was unepectedly paid off. I know that is not a "bad" problem to have in life--it is a bonus that I'm ultimately grateful for. However, I think you all can imagine the hit my scores took with my installment loan suddenly closing. All scores went down 30 points. I've joined a credit union and I'm working on getting a secure credit loan.
That said, I had a hp fall off and a few new ccs I got this summer started reporting, so that raised my score a bit. I'm now around 700 on all three CRAs, and that feels like a real miracle. Thank you to this board for helping make that happen.
My credit plan is just to keep gardening. In 8 months, it will be one year since my COS were all paid off. Keep working on cleaning up my reports so that they're all totally in order--there are a few little anomolies I'm working on rn. Ask for CLIs on my credit cards. Get that ssl. And of course, AZEO and PIF every month.
Grateful for the help here. Have a terrific October.
