So, today, after the 1 point boost 3 days ago on TU, Experian dings me 2 points (down to 721).
I just don't get it.
EQ | 850 | 2 INQ (Auto, Mort) | 7y4m |
EX | 850 | 6 INQ (2 CC, 2 mort, 2 auto) | 7y |
TU | 850 | 1 INQ (CC) | 6y8m |
3/24 | 1/12 | AoYA 10m | AoOA 24y2m | ~1% |
The gods continue to mock me, but in a different way.
[Found out why EX dropped 2 points - I lowered my Disco CL from 15 to 12.
TU FICO went up ostensibly because I made a mortgage payment, but that reason doesn't track -- I still owe over 98% of the original amount.

That may be true for some profiles. But not all. I get a point or two back at 3 months, 6 months, and a year. I rarely have. More than two inquiry’s in two years. That may factor in two. Each inquiry costs me 4 to 6 points also. If I had a lot of I wuirys I know eventually each one would cost zero points.
Each inquiry shouldn't be costing you 4-6 points. Each pair of inquiries maybe, but not each individual one. Most believe that inquiries are binned in some form. For example, 0-1 together, 2-3, 4-5, etc. That being said, going from 2 inquires to 3 (for example) may result in no score change at all, where going from 1-2 or 3-4 may result in a score change.
