14 point drop, cant figure out why

Evening all, i logged into experian and i had a 14 point drop hit me. I have a student loan i took out on 9/4 that hadent reported to this point so i assumed it finally had. Although i saw no new account reporting and no mention of the loan. The only thing i can think of is the AU cap 1 card i am on is sitting at ~20% UTI at 5500/15k. Although i am unsure when that account updates. I clicked on the more details and it said updated oct 1st although im not sure if that is just experian saying thats the october update. Any ideas what to do? My two personal cards have not had any updates since i pulled my reports a week an a half ago.

Re: 14 point drop, cant figure out why

Welcome to the club.....I just had 4K report paid and experian dropped 17 pts.
From what I've learned on this site, anything can trigger a drop. As long as my scores don't drop from anything derogatory, I just go with the flow. My scores fall and rise each month.....trying to figure out why everytime would drive me insane 😂

What was your before and after utilization? I'm guessing you crossed 8.9%?

@Wrigley2172  you sure $5500/15000 is 20%?

My math says it ain't, and 29% threshold got crossed

Re: 14 point drop, cant figure out why

Yes sorry remi i was getting numbers mixed up in my head. I was doing the 5500 divided by what my reported total credit lines of 22k was not what the individual card uti was.

Uti breaks down as follows
Amex 60/2000
Discover 558/5000 "cli to 7500 not updated yet"
Cap 1 5500/15000

So thats 27.8% total uti

Re: 14 point drop, cant figure out why

Also zero, they last cap1 balance was around 2k. So it went up by quite a bit. Its my dads card. Probably didnt hurt him too much haha but for me with small CL's a few thousand extra reporting really hit me. I guess it is the cap1 card then, his statement must of just closed i suppose
