20 point drop across the board

So I applied for an American Airlines Aviator card offered in flight.  Got approved for 15k.  I figured maybe a 5 pt drop but 20?  Went from 810 to 790 on all 3.  No new accounts in 2 years.  Is this pretty typical of what you all are seeing?

@Anonymous  Has the new account all ready appeared on your credit reports?

If yes, in addition to the HP inquiry point loss on that bureau, you were penalized for new account and resetting your AoYA Age of Youngest Account to zero.

ETA. Are those FICO, VantageScores or something else?

20 points would be very typical for an AoYA reset from >12 months (you said you were at ~24 months) to 0 months.

Yes that would be typical but it's AoYRA reset.

Re: 20 point drop across the board

It would also be helpful to know how the OP is monitoring their scores.  Perhaps their "before" score was from a month prior, meaning that any other number of different profile changes (like reported balance increases) could have played a role in the score drop seen with the new pull... so even if there wasn't an AoYA reset here yet with the new account reporting it's perfectly possible that it wasn't just the inquiry that dropped scores.

Also thinking out loud above, Amex usually just pulls EX to my knowledge, so if OP saw an equal drop in all 3B scores it was definitely the result of something outside of the inquiry such as balance increases, AoYA reset, etc.
