+20 pt FICO increase *mind = blown*

I'm putting this under CC's since that's where the increase came from.

CLI $15,000 --> $15,500

UTI $0 --> $445 (2% UTI)

My mind is completely blown how such small changes can cause a 20 point increase on a FICO. All from my Navy Go.. my Cap1 QS & AmEx BCE hasn't even been reported yet.

Amazing huh? I just don’t get it. I pay down my balances and nothing. Then out of the blue my score goes up 18 points lol. Congratulation’s on the boost keep it going.

I just got the EQ notification as well and the updates did nothing for my score. Lol. That's even more confusing. I so don't understand how the score models work. If a CLI and small ultilization report a 20 pt increase on 1 CRA, why shouldn't it be a 20 pt increase on all CRA's?

The boost is from going from $0 to something.... the CLI doesn't do much.

Prime example of shooting for $0 and hitting your foot when it comes to scores vs just using and reporting a balance somewhere monthly.

Do you know why EQ wouldn't also report a score boost if it's receiving the same info?

First off; each CRA uses their own algorithms and are sensitive to different things. This shouldn’t be the case with going from 0% Util to 2% Util, you’ll see some increase across the board, though it may be slightly +/- 20 points. Secondly; I’ve noticed that MyFICO can be delayed in updating scores with updates. Not sure what it is but it happens sometimes. Don’t worry it’ll increase, or perhaps I should say it already has and myFICO will catch up.
PERSONAL; Amex | AOD FCU | BBVA | BECU | Capital 1 | Chase | Citi | Discover | Key | NFCU | PSECU | SECU MD | Synchrony | US Bank
BUSINESS; Amex | Citi
F8 Current F8s ~750 Best Ever F8s ~775
TOTAL PERSONAL CL > $350k and TCL > $365k

CRAs (EX, EQ, TU) are merely Data Warehouses where all of our credit data are being reported to and kept. The FICO score that we get is from another company called Fair Isaac and Co. (FICO) which runs their proprietary scoring model every time a score is sought either by us or by businesses. The difference that we see in our scores in each CRA is not the variation of Algorithms but the variations of data reported to and kept by each CRA. That's why it's imperative that we as consumers always check our reports for inaccuracies.

New cc TLs : 0/6 ; 0/12 ; 0/24 | HPs EX 3 EQ 3 TU 4 | AAoA 8y1m | UTIL 1% - 4% | $300K+ Total Limits

Does each CRA just house the data or do they also tag them with codes that can perhaps influence the scoring models from FICO?
