Obsessive no....Dedicated yes. Or at least that's what I tell myself.
Since last spring, I've been pulling our reports on the last day of the month and the first day of the following month. Basically I pull 2 reports back to back. In my experience, I've noticed that the AAoA will change on the first, baddies fell off on the first, accounts turn one month older on the first, and most of my rebucketing has happened on the first. Well, you may ask, why not just pull on the first and not the last day of the month? Because if there was a score change, I can definitively narrow it down to this cause and that cause all the while X-ing out all other factors like util.
Well, I pulled yesterday and today. Here's what I found:
llecs' TU - score went up 22 points. Util is the same. Balances are the same. No dropped baddies (well, none reporting on TU). Nothing changed except for #4 on the things "hurting your FICO score". #4 (You have not established a long revolving credit history) was removed after the length of time went from "7 years, 11 months". So, I guess 8 years for revolving history on your TU FICO is certainly a key impact on your FICO score. Certainly YMMV based on your history, scoring bucket, etc. BTW, the score range for best scenario on the simulator went from 753-793 to 785-825. Thought that was interesting.
llecs' EQ - No score change. Everything is the same except that "Amount of new Credit" went from "Bad" to "Not Good", and this despite having a new inquiry last month. My #3 negative factor also changed when my AAoA went from 2 years to 3 years. And "Accounts opened in past year" went from 5 to 3. I was hoping for a change on that one.
Mrs. llecs' TU - No score change. "Amount of New Credit" went from "Not Good" to "Very Good", despite having no changes in the mention of # of inquiries and accounts opened in past year. Hmmm.
Mrs. llecs' EQ - No score change. Amount of new credit went from "Not good" to "Good". Accounts opened from past year went from 4 to 0. And her AAoA (#3 on the negitive list) went from 3 yrs to 4 yrs. Also surprised by no score change.
