The only thing I see that changed was his AAoA went up from 1 year to 1.1 years. Would that account for the 6 points?

What is the source for the EX score? What is the before / after score?

It is possible, though without more info not certain, that file aging might be a factor for the improvement.

It's from CCT, 612 before, 618 after. Number of inquiries is the same, same 2 baddies showing, same accounts, 2 new Cap1 cards aren't showing yet.

Time since negative did change from 2.5 to 2.6.
