Re: 608 to 736 I made it FICO FORUMS !!!!!!!!

Debtfree22 I was in those score areas just under a year ago and I really fine tuned my attention to derogs that was outdated and little to no inq..Sometimes it seems to be all about the ages, which is such a big portion of your scores. Also be very carefull about deleting old but bad accounts because even if they are bad the age will be lost there fore lowering your scores for age of accounts. You are not really bad to fico after those acc. get old anyway. I hope this will help some.

Re: 608 to 736 I made it FICO FORUMS !!!!!!!!

This is in response to runlevel0's comment about inquiries:  My FICO had a whole list of inquiries earlier this month, and I really have never checked on this before since I have no loans, I didn't think it was all that relevant. However, when I did check, most of them were mail order names, catalog companies. You see, I don't shop in department stores, I can't really shop at all, so my little luxury is to get paper catalogs. I signed up for about a dozen or so mail order catalogs, and low and behold, they had all checked my credit and sent cedit offers with the catalog.  That's where they all came from for me, even though I have never ordered or used their credit offers.

Maybe that helps. You also just have to watch what you sign up for, also those raffles in the malls, you know the ones with the really great SUV or Cancun vacations? They all check your credit before they start calling you for time shares or some such thing.

Re: 608 to 736 I made it FICO FORUMS !!!!!!!!

Hello CreditChief, thanks for sharing your experience.  I just want clarification on something; you're saying the "old bad accts" leave them alone as time will take care of them?  Because I was a victim of Identity theif-credit fraud as a result there were 4 bad accts on my credit report; long story in short...I paid off the 4 bad accts, hoping it would make the credit fraud nightmare go away, it only made it worst!  According to the 3 credit bureaus because I paid it off, I had then assumed the debt, therefore they are refusing to remove it and I've been petitioning the removal of the 4 bad accts for 4yrs now, and each time I dispute the bad accts 1. it brings down my credit score 2.it updates my credit report w/the current date on the bad accts?

What should I do?  Stop disputing the bad accts?  Let time take care of the removal?  What?  Please, what should I do?  I am very frustrated with the 3 credit bureaus process.  And BTW I sent all 3 certified letters, police reports; I even hired one of those credit repair agency's only to get no better results then when I was writing the letters myself.

Comments?  Suggestions?  Please help!!

Great job, I'm trying to get there myself.  My scores keep fluctuating from 560 to 620.  I'm hoping to be right behind you.

Re: 608 to 736 I made it FICO FORUMS !!!!!!!!

Wisernow, Please let me say this process did take nearly 2yrs and it was very unnerving at times. One good thing going for me was I had about 13 good accounts that was still in good standing while I was in my bk. I also had about 10 baddies not counting 2 collections that wasnt really mine and all kinds of late payments that wasnt real either. I disputed and got about half to go away the rest got old. By being old they helped my age even while being bad. Good positive new cc and cu showed I was a better risk so they helped to cover the bad that was left showing. I hope this helps. Remember don't give the bureaus anything bad to help an already bad situation.
