Most months I end up AZEO or AZE2 as a few latent charges trickle in between my payment and the statement; this month I'm going to get hit with the All-Zero penalty for the fourth time in the last two years. No worries though, my scores will most likely bounce back next month.
Update...
So, apparently I lied. Unexpecedly an annual subscription to a rewards membership for a retailer I frequent hit my "sockdrawered" PenFed card which in turn meant I didn't get hit with an AZ penalty. Here we are a month later having just completed a 3,000 mile road trip through two Canadian provinces and seven states, incurring numerous charges for hotels, dining, fuel, and other sundries, and my habit of paying in full prior to each due date yielded not AZ, not AZEO, not AZE2, but AZE3; yes, three of my five revolvers showed small/trivial balances for latent charges which posted after I'd PIFed my cards. As for my scores? Not completely sure as I stopped subscribing to a service to get all of the FICO scores once my Chapter 13 fell off my reports last year so the only current FICO score I have available is FICO 8 from EX, would you believe it went up 4 points? Go figure.
Chapter 13:
I categorically refuse to do AZEO!
EX Fico 8 is insensitive to # of cards with balances. On the other hand, TU and particularly EQ would penalize for AZE3, perhaps 5-8 points given you have 5 cards. Too bad no comparison data is available.
Going from AZE1 to AZE3 on EX should be score neutral so something else was in play.
