I have a few accounts on my cr that I had previously disputed. I ended up settling out those accounts but they are still listed as account in dispute. After settling the accounts I noticed an increase in my FICO Score. I was under the assumption that accounts in dispute had a neutral affect on reporting. Is it possible that satisfying the account supersedes the account in dispute status and begins reporting again?
I had intentions of removing the dispute status on those accounts but now I am weary to do so because of the score increase and the account showing as a paid account.
It depends on the type of account. Collections and PR are not taken out of scoring when it is disputed.
