Adding an installment loan -- the Share Secure technique

Re: Adding an installment loan -- the Share Secure technique

Ok, I thought of another possible contributor to the big point increases. At the time of my first 3B pull 3 months ago, I had a fairly new SS Installment loan from my local Credit Union. That means I had the added points from the mix but with a very high utilization. At the time of my most recent pull, I had paid that down to about 8%.

So this comparison isn't clean but I'm definitely not complaining. I'm optimized now and I just wasn't 3 months ago.

Does Alliant report to all 3 credit bureaus?

Eventually. I'm waiting on mine to report to Experian and Transunion. My loan went through at the end of January and Equifax reported very quickly.

You had several factors affecting your fico score.  Congrats on the FICO gain. It was probably the combination of all the things you mentioned.

I do wonder how long it could take to report to all 3 though.

I'm also wondering how long it takes to report. I am being a bit impatient though. I just did my ssl around the 25th of Feb. I was hoping it would report this month because I heard it reports the beginning of the month

You are still waiting for both TU and EX, is that right?

If so, maybe you can do a fresh pull of TU via Credit Karma at the end of this week.  I'd be very surprised if it wasn't there and interested to hear about it.

The update that happened on March 1 might take a solid 7-8 days to appear on TU.

Your SSL was done just two business days before the end of the month.  It's quite possible that with the first time the loan reports, the lender needs more time to do initial housekeeping connected with getting the loan squared away in its own database.  Perhaps 4-5 business days, say.  On the other hand, maybe you'll see it at the end of this week.

If you don't see it by then, then you may need to wait till April 12 or so.

Yes both.

My CCT and Credit Karma both refresh this Friday.

I use WalletHub as well for a daily TU VS but I'm not so convinced it's really daily.

Thanks that's the hope I needed Smiley Happy

I opened an Alliant acct for DW tonight as well. Her profile has old closed installment loans.

Her profile is much older and thicker than mine. I will post her results as well when they come in.

Thanks again for all the help CGID!
