Thank you. New question, I applied for the savings account yesterday and when I got to the part where they would welcome me I got a message instead that said my security information was incorrect. I don't know what triggered that, but the message said to wait a couple days and if I hadn't heard from them to call. Isn't this strange? I haven't heard anyone here talk about this happening.

Feel free to huddle with the little community of people on this thread.  They may be able to guide you with that.

Any ideas, guys?

Re: Adding an installment loan -- the Share Secure technique

Update- I got an email from them telling me Congratulations and welcome and I'll be receiving a welcome packet in the mail! I'm excited about that but they also said my initial deposit slip will be in it which is interesting because I was never even given the option to make a deposit when I applied, so we shall see!

I would call, it's been two days and I'm impatient.

Nevermind Smiley Happy You must've posted seconds before I did. Congratulations

Re: Adding an installment loan -- the Share Secure technique

I wanted to say THANKS to CreditGuyInDixie and other contributors in this thread. Because of the help you provided, I was able to pre-qual on my new house over the weekend with some favorable rates. I am the proud owner of a dirt lot with a fantastic view! Construction to commence immediately.

That's really great news. I think a home is the ultimate reason to build a credit score. I know it's the reason me and my wife started our credit journey. I'm very happy for you and I hope you enjoy a long life in your new home.

Re: Adding an installment loan -- the Share Secure technique

I posted about 2-3 weeks ago about how the SSL technique seemed to have a negative affect on my vantage scores, but it looks like it was a fluke. Went down 43 points one week and up back up 46 the next with no significant changes in my reports. I finally got my discover scorecard (experian) fico score update and my score went from 755 to 787 so the technique definitely gave my fico a large boost. Thanks to CGID and all who contributed to the thread, it was a great idea.

Re: Adding an installment loan -- the Share Secure technique

How long did it take folks here to see the Loan on their Credit reports.

This is my time line so far

Nov 2016: Opened Savings & Checking Acct w/ Alliant

Feb 2017: Decided to do the SSL. Applied last wk of Feb

15, Mar 2017: Spoke with LO around mid March. Setup auto pay to Apr 1st

20, March 2017: Paid down loan to 15%

1, Apr 2017: Auto pay

4, Apr 2017: Cancelled Auto pay
5, Apr 2017: Paid down to 8.99%

When should I expect to see the update on Credit Reports. I read on a bunch of posts here that Alliant reports on 31st every month, but no alerts for me yet.
