Re: Advice needed on improving credit score

Oofa sorry to hear.  Whenever they offer you something... grab it because that always happens when you get a different rep.  I'd pay down some but not all and call back and ask again... get a supervisor.  Be nice though...even though they promised you, they don't have to.

Maybe you got a dumb rep and should call back again.  Either way... no soup for them!!!  Smiley Tongue

Re: Advice needed on improving credit score

Si kind of dropped off the face of the Earth for a couple weeks, but thought I would jump on here and update a couple things. I disputed some public records and collection accounts through all the CRBs and finally got a response back after a few weeks from Experian. One collection account remains open for some reason (it was an account I thought was paid, but maybe wasn't), 2 trade lines were completed removed (a collection account and a GMAC account), and three collection accounts were updated to paid in full. The awesome thing about the GMAC account was that it closed 5 years ago and had a BUNCH of late payments!!! Yeeehawww!!!

I pulled my full Experian credit report a few weeks ago and my score was 576. I pulled it again today, and I went up a HUGE 1 point. Such is life, but I am sure there are many factors that I don't yet understand which only caused the one point increase. I also only got the notification from Experian a couple days ago, should I have waited a couple more days before pulling the report and score?

Re: Advice needed on improving credit score

My bad, my score actually dropped a point and I also forgot to mention that some other Sallie Mae Financial Aid loans popped up recently, which added another $8500 in installment loans.
