Aging without regret

In real life aging is not always desired, but for your credit history it is extremely beneficial
. But how does it work i detail?
If everything in the report stays exactly the same over time, how would the score be affected? Is there a change every month, when the average age (and oldest account) goes from x to x+1? Or are there only gains when the age reaches certain x values? And if yes, what are the golden x'es?
And last but not least, does it work the same for all three FICOs?

Re: Aging without regret

Typically from what I've found is x<2, 2-5, 5-8 or 10, and 10+. Its way more detailed than that although, think buckets.

Aging is benficial, But so is Average Age of Accounts. Both work together on your score. Hopefully someone can explain it alittle better.

Re: Aging without regret

Anecdotal evidence suggests there are no hard cutoffs in age...it pretty much goes along a smooth curve, with some "noise" that represents random score fluctuations.

The exception to this are the bucket...there are some of them that are tied to years of this or that, including history.
