Amex vs Experian monitoring and scores

Well I just received a letter from Amex advising me how they determined my apr and it included my Experian score.

It listed me as a 766

Interestingly enough the experian monitoring service which we know is not a true fico has me at 736.

Was surprised the actual score was higher than the experian monitoring score.

Just wanted to share

Re: Amex vs Experian monitoring and scores

Best guess is that Amex is using EX Fair Issac v2 BankCard Industry Option, a real FICO score from EX. It is basically the EX FICO that was available here with the BankCard additional Scorecards. Amex MAY also add Amex specific modification.

The score you get from EX monitoring is useless, generally similar within 100 points or so.

Simple rule: EX updates and reports are excellent, consumer scores are useless.

Re: Amex vs Experian monitoring and scores

It has been a couple years now since EX stopped letting us purchase their scores on this site.  Do you all think they will ever go back to allowing us to see it here?  It seems they lost a good revenue stream, but I could be mistaken.

Starting Score: 583 EQ, 612 EX, 569 TU
Current Score: 658 EQ, 648 EX, 618 TU
Goal Score: 720 EQ, 720 EX, 720 TU

I haven't heard anything new, but I'm still hopeful we'll be able to buy a EX FICO score some day.
