I just pulled my TU report through myFico - haven't seen an updated one in a long time...
My score is 783 which the report considers "great" - but the little scale shows lots of bad things and no good!
The bad:
You have a short credit history.
You have not established a long revolving credit history.
You have too many credit accounts.
Your FICO score takes into account the number of accounts (such as credit cards or installment loans) on your credit report. You have a large number of accounts. In general, people who have a large number of accounts pose more of a risk to lenders than people with a moderate number of accounts.
FICO High Achievers [?] have an average of 6 accounts currently paid as agreed. ***I have 6 accounts****You've recently been looking for credit.
Under good things:
Since your FICO® score is not good, there are no positive factors that we can list which are helping your score.
I know I should just ignore it because my score is good and the rest of the info is accurate
Ignoring it is exactly what I would do. But that's just me.
(myfico)
7/09 TU-742 EQ- 779
8/09 TU-765 EQ- 783
9/09 EX pulled by lender 802
CC interest free as of 8/09
Time can heal all wounds and a low FICO.

What's up with this??? I know I should just ignore it because my score is good and the rest of the info is accurate... but I feel like I paid for a report that is flawed. Is this normal with TU reports? Probably overreacting - I'm just annoyed!
The higher your FICO score, the pickier these reports are about minor dings, this is normal and is the nearly universal experience of us high achievers. Basically this is saying to go from your excellent score to an even higher score you'd have to polish off your clean profile to an even greater degree than you already have.

tonsers, this is odd, because usually as our FICO scores go higher, they list fewer and fewer negatives. I would have thought that you would only be seeing one negative with your score. This doesn't mean that the negatives aren't there, btw, it just means that the tender egos of high-achievers are soothed by (normally) not seeing the long string. The 800 crowd doesn't see any negatives at all, fragile little things, lol.
I wonder if they've made a change on this. I'll poke around and see if I can find anything out.
Hauling -yes - that's exactly what I was getting at. The fact that it told me that I have no positives to list (which normally include no late payment and only 1% utilization) makes me feel like I bought a defective product. I paid $13 for a product and this makes me wonder what else could be goofy.
So once again - no big deal. I don't need TU to tell me I've been a good girl - I just want to feel like I get value for my money.
I would be interested to know if they have made a change.
Hauling - that could be it. I was logged onto myFico, decided to pull my TU report (I already have EQ scorewatch) - then went to google a discount coupon. Maybe the place I found the coupon directed me to myfico.com/12???
Would the price for the /12 report be the same? I paid $15 for the report less a 20% coupon.
yeppers - that looks like a myfico.com/12 report
myfico.com/12 is an affiliate with myFICO - so it's all good. When you log on to that site, they link you to myFICO.com
My experience is that your computer will tend to "remember" and revert to myfico.com/12 in the address bar if you've entered it earlier in the day - so watch your address line. If you've never entered myfico.com/12, even just to check it out, then I'm not sure how you might have landed there.......
The difference in pulling your reports on myfico.com/12 is that you will receive the same four codes that your lenders see when they pull your credit report. So, even if you have a high score, you will still see four Reason Codes. FICO has no positive Reason Codes - so don't go into shock when you see your scale!! You can use the same discount codes that you use on myfico.com, and the reports you purchase will show on your purchases tab along with all your other myfico.com reports. You use your same login. You won't have access to the simulator on these reports, but I prefer seeing the four codes my lenders see to having access to a somewhat vague (but helpful and definitely fun to play with) simulator.
I think this is the only place you can purchase the codes your lenders see. Pretty cool!
