Are AAoA limit-weighted?

Hi guys

Would anyone know if age of account calcs for fico are balance weighted? I just opened a TL with an existing lender BofA (will be coming up to 1y of credit history) and I also got a CLI on an old, unused TL.

I'd like to move most of my limit from the old card to the new one and only retain a $500 limit so I can keep the card open (no AF). Should I expect a ding for reducing and older TL's balance? Or are dates calculated as simple and not credit limit-weighted averages?

Thanks

The only time CL's affect your score is if your util goes up or down.

Re: Are AAoA limit-weighted?

To the best of my knowledge, the AAoA calculation is just simple and not weighted by CL.

bobebob || Nov: My FICO SW EQ(Upgraded Version) = 822 ||Sept: Walmart TU Fico=838Goal = FICO's>800 || In my wallet: CostcoAmEx(20k), DCU Visa Platinum (10k), BoA Visa Signature (17.1k), Walmart Discover (7.5k), AmEx Corporate (5k). All PIF every month.

Re: Are AAoA limit-weighted?

Thanks guys.

It's a moot point. I called BofA and they said its a no go. Can't move CL without HP even though I just had two HPs with them. (On donor card graduating and a new card approved).

Hoping that BofA does unsolicited CLIs down the road.

Re: Are AAoA limit-weighted?

AAoA is only the age of your accounts and CLs are in no way calculated into those dates.
