I don't really understand it yet, I get that its the card holder's responsibility, but both of you can run up the debt. I also get that from the point of view as the AU, there really is no downside. But how does it affect the card holder if,

The AU has Good credit?

Bad Credit?

No credit?

Defaults on something that the Card Holder is NOT tied to?

Has past last lates that the Card Holder is NOT tied to?

Just trying to guage if adding a good or bad(finacially wise) person affects the Card Holder in general? Thanks for any help!

Re: Authorized User

The AU's credit behavior outside of the accoun,t they are tied to with you does not impact your credit. Their behavior on that account does. The lender (AMEX) however, may look at an AU's credit profile and react to a bad credit report.

In general though, it has no effect.
