Authorized Users on CC

Does being a authorized user on a CC still help your FICO scores? I remember hearing that it would be changed last year but I'm not sure. I want to put my daughter on a card to boost her score before she's a young adult. Thanks

Yes, it does help. FICO '08 has not kicked in yet.................some doubt it ever will.

Even if FICO '08 eventually takes that boost away, until it is implemented and widely used, her AU status could allow her to pick up cards now that will build history by the time her AU'hood is removed from the scoring formula. It would also likely allow her to avoid some starter cards and obtain prime cards way before many others. Still a very smart move.
