Hello All,
I am wondering if anyone can aswer my question about the impact of multiple inquiries from when I got an auto loan. 15 of my 17 inq are from 5/10/14/ - 5/15/14 all from auto lenders. I believe that these would be grouped together under most scoring models so it doesnt really look like 15 inq with respect to my scores, but I am wondering after the 1 year mark does the impact of those inq decrease or does is essentially decrease linearly the whole time from month 0 to month 24 when it drops off?
I guess the more general question is do inqs have a linear decreasing impact on scores or is the decrease at certain intervals or only when it completely falls off?
Thanks for any info/opions!
Hi, I don't have an auto loan but I have been watching the inqs falling off on my reports. I get the reports timed with the inq and it seems that the effect does not decrease with time and I get score jumps the day they fall off. This isn't the new account impact because the score jumps also have occurred with inqs for denials that occurred when my scores were much lower. I pull my reports a lot (maybe too much) just to see the impact of positive and negative items (inqs, new accounts, utilization, etc.).
Fico ignores inquiries older than 1 year.
