Now I remember why I hate credit!!!

This credit process is such an infuriating process that I clearly remember now why I got to a point where I couldn't care less.  Credit is such a bs game and everything is rigged to trigger to cause damage to the consumer it isn't even funny!

So, after all my accounts added I stayed relatively level, up 2 down 4 up 5 down 1.....ok.  I paid an old debt reporting monthy directly by Discover ;  now marked paid (still shows in dispute).......

Suddenly this month, hubby and I both take a hit when the mortgage reported a payment reducing the amount (nothing unusual normal monthly report and amount).

Go in and look at Experian on his acct note suddenly a Macys account from 2007 shows up.....it was a $100 cl, never used it and it closed for inactivity.   But, it was never there til this month!

Look at my Experian and not only is Macy's there but so is this entry for CBNA opened in 1994, last update 12/2006......again never there now suddenly pops up!  What the hell?????  This CBNA shows limit $3700 and high balance $4288 (which must mean at some point they lowered my CL but from 2006 on a closed account who the hell knows any details??????), paid satisfactory with status update 12/2006...........HOW DID THEY SUDDENLY APPEAR OUT OF NO WHERE??????  and why would obsolete accounts suddenly be parked onto the report?

Now I have to do leg work to get this crap back off????  Why would it even appear?

And why now that I have so many more postive accounts did our scores suddenly take a dive?   My UTI is at 10%....ths morning my EX went down 19pts to 664.  For no valid reason.

How can a routine payment on my mortgage be a negative ?????

This is utter garbage.

This is what is wrong with this county..............why should people be punitively punished for so long on credit and why are consumers subject to such obscure and subjective practices under these credit reporting laws????

Work to re-establish, make payments and get punished.....it;s a bunch of horse crap!!!!

God there is no doubt this morning why I preferred living with cash and just ignoring this mess of a system that exists!!!

The only thing I can think of one time recently you had no credit file, when you got new cards the credit file showed up along with old reports? If they are indeed your old accounts not sure if they can be removed..good luck.

Re: Now I remember why I hate credit!!!

How much was the score drop from the mortgage payment?

It would seem that the older accounts, if no negatives, no missed payments, would be a positive once they get folded into the score, thus no reason to try to get rid of them. Give FICO some time to adjust to the new information and see what happens. You may be pleasantly surprised.

The key to building your score, now that you have several decent cards, is to just make sure you pay on time every month, and work to keep utilization down. The score will take care of itself over time, and continue to improve.
