BK EE and New Account Score Drops

Checked EX this morning after a successful BK CH7 EE and noticed my score dropped by 23 ptsSmiley Sad. From looking at my report Here is what I can see:

BK - removed

New Discover Card - added

Care Credit CLI to $8600

Utilization down from 60% to 42%

I checked TU and EQ it reflects the same as above but my score dropped 4pts on TU and 3pts on EQ.

Is this "normal"?

What specific product are you using to obtain your scores and what scoring model is used for those scores?

EX was obtained from the Experian website. TU and EQ was obtained from CreditKarma. I also checked my FICO 8 on Discover and it shows TU at 634 whereas CreditKaram shows it at a 661.

Re: BK EE and New Account Score Drops

Ignore the CK scores.  They aren't FICO scores.  The score you're getting from Experian is likely an EX FICO 8 score, which is meaningful.  When you say your score from Discover, is it from your Discover CC account?  If so, that's a TU FICO 8.  If it's from creditscorecard.com, that's an EX FICO 8 score, likely the same score you're getting from Experian.

your overall util is way too high! Thats a lot of your problem! Get that down to <9% overall util reporting, and you should see a bigger increase in your FICO scores. CK scores are worthless
