Hello! Its been a while since I've been here!
I have/had a CapOne Quicksilver card for a quite a while. It was converted years ago from one of their older products. It was one of my rebuilder cards. Well, its also been a resident of my sock drawer for about the past 6 years. Received the expected letter that they are closing my account since I hadn't used it in 5 years. No great loss.. BUT.. it was an older card (but not the oldest)..but with a tiny CL (compared to my other cards)
Finally my questions: how much will this impact my credit scores and for how long?
would it be better if I closed it before they did?
thanks
thanks! thats what I couldn't remember.
5 years w/o use is a good run for any CC before they close it down. My longest was 22 months before Sync shutodwn a card.
No worries as it was just collecting dust anyway.
probably because they owed me 'rewards" dollars
just out of curiosity, if OP charged like 5$ on the card and paid it and let the card go dormant would that likely stave off closure. assuming no AF, if this trick worked then it would make sense to do it IMO.
