I'm so upset. My BK fell off my EX today and my score dropped 38 points. I recently paid off around $15K in debt within the last 2 months and I still have one collection to take care of. I'm sure it was because of the blemishes that are still on my report. I just feel so...defeated ![]()
I filed chapter 13 Feb 2016 and did a voluntary dismissal March 2017.
It sounds like your score dropped due to loss of age.
Spitballing here but wondering if this could be related to a rebucketing due to the BK7 falling off leaving the collections account as the remaining most severe (yet less severe than a BK) derogatory now reporting.

This does seem very plausible. I also wonder if paying off the $15K did it (particularly if it was installment).
You all bring up good points. I just know seeing that drop really hurt my feelings! Well, at least it's gone now. Thanks all

Wait until you see a full report before you jump to conclusions. A bankruptcy falling off your report would not drop your score 38 points.

@SouthJamaica What do you mean by "full report"? I use Experian's. Nothing else has changed, been added or deleted. Is it typical for a score to change before an actual "change" is listed?

No ... but re-bucking would potentially have such an effect. Lived through some of that ... it came back after some time with a plus increase of around 80+ points.

The reports on these sites are not as complete as the paper reports. I think annualcreditreport.com supplies the full reports.

How did you get it to fall off?
