CURIOUS AND NEW

Today my scores are...myFICO-TU 674...EQ..670..TU..739...according to the simulator on myFICO, if I continue paying on time for 14 months my scores will be inches away from 800 across the board.....HOW ACCURATE is the simulator. I have 0 late pymnts...2 co's getting ready to fall off...totally clean file at that point. Started rebuilding 14 mos ago..

Back in 2015 my scores were...TU 586...EQ..536....TU 601---Credit Karma scores

TODAY, after CAP1 issued a 300 unsecured card in OCT 2015, my scores are...quoted above..

AND I have cards with....Barclay cl 1500..Amex(3) cls 6000, 3000, 500..Boa Merrill Lynch cl 5k...Discover cl 3500.Chase(2) cls 5k 3k...Cap 1 cl 4550..walmart..1k..citi best buy visa..2k..Kohls 700...Overstock..2500..Overtons mastercard..1500..Macy..1300...Cabellas..2k..Credit 1..950...

I do have lots of inq...33 on EX...23...TU...18 EQ.....AUTO LOAN added 9 on each..

So, can I reach 800 in 14 mos gardening and paying on time?

Re: CURIOUS AND NEW

That strikes me as quite possible.  You'll have no derogs.  Those huge numbers of inquiries will have no more impact 12 months from now.  All your accounts will be at least 1 year old.  And although it's not 100% clear to me from your post, it sounds like you will have no credit card debt (it's unclear to me how much you have now).

The only tweak I'd make to the advice that the simulator gave you is that it often implies to people that they will be best served by slowly paying their CC down (i.e. gradually).  That is not true.  There is no advantage (scoring or financial) to the gradual approach.  Pay off your CC debt at your earliest convenient opportunity and then continue to have most of your cards report $0 with at least one reporting a small-ish positive balance.

Maybe but you're going to have to stop applying for things.

The simulator is sometimes accurate, sometimes not.
