I know from first hand experience it can lower FICO 8. A couple of years ago I added a couple of previous non reporting items and my score immediately dropped several points. I quickly removed the additions.
I know I've never been late on my utilities, yet my score dropped a few points. The utilities had been in my name for the then dozen plus years since I bought my house.
Yes, it can drop your score just as @CorpCrMgr1 says. I also used it for my Netflix and maybe another account a few years back and realized that it was the cause of my score drop. At first, I gained 10-12 points but then over time it began to supress my score. I can't remember exactly what causes the algorithm to drop scores but I think it's how the payments are reported. Someone else may be able to elaborate further.
