Hi and welcome to myFICO

Am I missing something here? I don't understand why you have only $500 and $2K CLs with near perfect scores. What gives?

Well, they weren't near perfect when I applied for those lines. When I went for the bank card (500 CL) my EXP8 was something like 720, and I had high util on the retail line when I apped. A combo of proper util, AZEO and SSL got my score to where it is now. With the pandemic, my card issuer won't consider CLI for any cards <12mo, no exceptions. So I'm stuck with these limits unless I get a new card. I have no desire to CLI the retail line and won't take a hard pull just for that purpose.

Lol! I will! I'm just timing it so I can meet minimum spending on two cards...first world problems, eh?

No I'm referring to my current card (Discover IT) plus the new one I want. Still in that first year CB match period, so I at least try to max the rotating categories, if I can do so without increasing normal spending. So far so good!

@Anonymous

I just applied for the NFCU card. Instant approved for $25K at lowest interest rate. To think, 8 months ago I couldn't get Discover to give me more than $500!

Thanks for all your detailed replies, helping me understand the mortgage scoring formula. If this insanely hot seller's market doesn't cool, I ain't buying anyway...
