How can this score -- which is different than the regular Fico score -- be improved?

I honestly don't know, and doubt anyone else who's able to talk abut it does either. There's a dizzying array of secondary scores from all the bureaus, and realistically focusing on the primary underwriting algorithms is best for success in the credit market.
In theory a pretty report should generate a pretty score on any algorithm, though some things may look at things very very differently. Does a stale report of no new tradelines in the last 20 years have a higher or lower Card Aquisition score than someone who opened a tradeline six months ago? Hard to say, presumably they're looking for something akin to first payment default, or some time period of default likihood, but beyond that no se nada.

You can do a Google search and find a bunch of information on this.
However, I would expect scoring models based on serious historical report analysis to all end up in pretty much the same place.
If you google the score there are posts by others on FICO forum who have encounted the score. I could not find any helpful information on the score.
