Cause and Effect of removing a paid CO from 1st Premier

Finally, First Premier is gone. It was removed today and wanted to post what happened to EQ and FICO.

Yesterday, I pulled all 3. Today, I decided to pull hard copies of all 3 CRs directly from the CRs and noticed that First Premier was gone. It was listed as a paid CO with a $0 balance. It was officially CO'd in the spring of 2001 and had a listed DOLA of 6/2001. So I pulled a second FICO report today. No other changes except:

Score went up 17 points! (Don't mind that; I'll take it)

Here's some notable changes:

Payment History went from "Not Good" to "Good".

In Negative Factors section:
        # of accounts 60 days or worse went from 3 to 2.
        # of accounts w/ derogatory info went from 3 to 2.
Total history increased by 1 mo. (being May 1) and avg. history stayed the same.

Positive Factors:
       # of accts in good standing went DOWN from 15 to 14 (I guess it factors baddies too)

AND in the SUMMARY  ---   Lates dropped from 56 to 26.......30 lates GONE!!!!!!!! The last late listed was in 9/2007 for a CO that occured in 2001.

This was a pain in the butt. It would change the "Worst Delinquency" box from "Collection/CO" to "120+ Days late" MONTHLY. Back and forth and back and forth. Each time it did that EQ would swing 20 points off and on.

Sweet! that's gotta be great to get rid of that thing. If nothing else, your expenses on Zantac and Pepsid are bound to drop.

What do you have left on your reports that's worse than a 30-day or maybe a 60-day? When the last major derog is gone, that's when you'll see the real score change.
* Credit is a wonderful servant, but a terrible master. * Who's the boss --you or your credit?
FICO's: EQ 781 - TU 793 - EX 779 (from PSECU) - Done credit hunting; having fun with credit gardening. - EQ 590 on 5/14/2007

I was a Prilosec man myself. It is a fact that what I am about to comment on is unscientific and is probably not published in a non-scientific journal somewhere, but an elimination of a baddie will add 3.4 years to your life.

Congrats on the 8k!!!!!!

I have two unpaid baddies left: a CA (AFNI) and a CO (Verizon Wireless). The CA is set to be removed 2010 and the CO has a ways to go. Tackling both. I also have a old repo, but redeemed and paid. The repo reference is gone on TU as are the lates (listed in history, but not counted in score) and have been sending GWs to them for EX and EQ. Finally, I have 2 lates on CapOne from 2002. TU not showing the lates, but also sending GWs. No other lates, baddies, or otherwise. Avg. history is only 2 yrs.

I predict 700 on EQ once utilization catches up this month.

I'd like to say I was doing something fancy or methodical, but I wasn't. It was seven lllllllllllllllllllllooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggggggggg years. Actually, 6 years and 11 months to be precise.

It is funny because the CA (Arrow Financial Services) dropped off before First Premier did. They came off in November, February and March (don't remember which order per the CRAs). I started this repair process in August and knew that it would fall off soon. I knew enough not to mess with it.

I have unkind words about both the OC and the CA. But at the risk of getting banned, I'll hold my tongue (or keystrokes).
