No, there is no penalty for pulling your credit reports and/or score, when it is requested by the consumer.  You could pull your scores and reports once a day (365 times a year) and there would be no scoring penalty.

thanks buddy

Re: Checking Credit Score

You can get the CCT trial as often as twice a month. As soon as your trial ends, you can subscribe to another trial right away. So just $2 a month

Re: Checking Credit Score

Hi Chala, CreditGuy is correct. The $15 per month deal with CreditCheckTotal is not automatic. Otherwise it is like $30 per month. Here is what you have to do. After you have signed up for the $1 trial, you can call to cancel the membership (I did this on the 6th or 7th day). Supposedly you can do it by automated system, but the automated system never worked for me. So, I spoke with a Customer Service Rep, told them I wanted to cancel. When asked why, I explained that the $30 per month is a little steep for me. Then they offered me the $15 per month deal which lasts for one year. She told me I can call back at the end of my one year to see what other deals they have. I said o.k. It was easy. Also, you can cancel the subscription at anytime!!! You're not required to carry the subscription for then year.

If you decide to go this route, please be mindful that the $15 will not update on your account page. It will show $30. But, in fact, your card will only be charged $15 each month. So, don't panic about that.

Now, like Zumroff has mentioned, you can do the $1 trial twice per month. I didn't try for it. I decided to just pay the money each month. Easier and simpler for me. But I have read that on this forum that other members have had success with doing the $1 trial multiple times. It is something you may want to consider to see if it works for you.

You can do it more than 2X a month.  I have.  Not often, but have.

ItsPossible that's very odd that you were unable to cancel your trial membership via the automated system.  I've cancelled probably 20 trial memberships, all by the automated system and never had any issue doing so.

Nope BBS, couldn't get it to work for me. Tried more than 10 times over a two-day period. I would press the buttons and it would not read it for whatever reason. Maybe it's because I was calling from a internet-based telephone line. I've read about other people also having trouble with the automated system for cancellation and having to talk to a person. Guess I was one of the unlucky ones.
