Hello to everyone. I have been reading posts here for many months and decided to finally check my TU report and score here at myfico. It was 742. I was pleasantly surprised. This is the first time I have known any of my scores in over 2 years. Like many of you I have suffered through a BK and major mistakes in money management. But also like many of you I have come far.
My report showed no derogs, no inquiries, and no new credit in 2 years. My utilization was at 22% (I know that hurts some) but that will drop to 0 after August 1 when my last CC is paid off. I have learned from these forums to try and have a balance of 1-9% on 1 or 2 cards report each month. That seems to be the most popular opinion. I will work with the numbers to see what works best for me.
I’ll check my TU score again in a month or so to see the effect of my lower utilization. It will feel wonderful (and strange) to have no CC debt. I can’t remember the last time that was true. I’ll also pull my Equifax score to compare with TU.
All of you do a great job here. Keep up the good work. I look forward to more excellent advice in the future.

Congrats! It's nice to hear other people who manage to bounce back from such problems in the past!
I appreciate your words. Those who have gone through bad times know what others are feeling. Sometimes support helps as much as useful advice. I just pulled my EQ here and it is 779. I stopped wondering long ago why each bureau can have such different information. I just have to accept what I can't change. I was looking at my last post and need to clarify something. The 22% util I quoted was overall usage. The one remaining card with a balance is at 65%. I know paying that off will help my scores when everything finally posts and the smoke clears.
