Closed or Open- Does it make a difference in score?

Hi.  I have a recently settled and closed CC account and when I checked the status in my reports, EQ notes the account as "OPEN".  Should I ask the creditor to "close" it or does it make any difference in FICO score?  Thanks.

Not certain from an underwriting perspective when it comes to a settled account; however, for FICO open vs. closed makes no difference except when it comes to mix of credit, but if you have 2+ other open credit cards or other revolving accounts, I wouldn't worry about it.

For completeness and the fact you really want your credit report to be as accurate as possible if you ever have to show it to someone and discuss it in detail, you probably want to get it taken care of but shouldn't be a huge issue either way.
