hi. i wanted to know that if i close my current AARP chase card(3 days old) would that increase my AAoA or does it factor in closed accounts as well?
Depends on the scoring model.
FICO will count the age for up to 10 years after closing for AAoA.
Vantage doesn't factor in closed accounts for AAoA.
See also the Closing Credit Cards thread linked in the Helpful Threads sticky in the Credit Cards subforum.
There's also a Closing Aged Accounts thread linked in one of the stickies in this subforum.

No it won't increase your AAoA. It will be counted in your AAoA for 10 years if you close it. So don't close it ![]()

Plus, once an account is closed, if it is in good-standing, the creditor may choose to clean house and delete the entire account.
You will then, regardless of the scoring model, obviously loose any AAoA impact.
You cannot control what the creditor may do, so if you want to preserve its age, then dont close.....
