Collection account disappears from TU

I had a collection account that literally just vanished from the TU.  It is still showing on EX and EQ, but instead of showing as a collection, its showing as a revolving debt that 120+ days past due and hurting my DTI.

First, if that collection re-appears as the same collection or if they sold it and the new CA reports it, how bad will it hurt me?  I worked hard to get my credit into the 670's these last 6-7 months.  I am looking to buy a house next year may or june.

Secondly,  How do i get EQ and EX to report the collection as the right account?  Equifax is reviewing my dispute now, but every time i try to dispute it with experian, they say they already reviewed it 3 months ago and wont do it again.

Thanks

Re: Collection account disappears from TU

The DTI wouldn't be impacted because lenders would see it as a collection as opposed to an account you'd make monthly payments to. Per scoring, FICO would still see it as a CA. I would take steps, though, to get it off. I'd let the dust settle from the dispute and send the CA a DV letter. If they verify and you agree, then send a PFD.

If a new CA is re-added to TU, your score would be roughly the same as it was when it was there before, all else being equal.
