Credit Card heavy use question

The Holidays have been great, I purchased a nice macbook pro. and almost maxed out my barclay apple rewards card. 3k Limit

and also purchase a engagement ring from Kays 5500 balance of 6K limit. So I am going to see a heavy drop in this month scores.

Question: When my scores drop and as I pay down what I owe will my score slowly increase if I don't use these cards?

Re: Credit Card heavy use question

Utilization is calculated each month when your respective creditors report your balance to the bureaus. You will see a drop if the cards report with high balances.

The good news is that utilization has no memory from month to month, so as soon as you fix it (and it reports to the bureaus), you'll bounce right back.

Try and pay as much as you can on the balances before the statement closing dates; this is the only way to impact what the bureaus will see.

Re: Credit Card heavy use question

If you were to pay your accounts down the the amounts they were at prior to your big spends and your utilization was exactly as it was originally, once those new balances reported your scores would be exactly what they were originally.  The most amount of time this would take is 30 days from when you pay down the balances, as your lenders will report every 30 days.
