Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know if it's a mistake if you have accounts reporting current dates (for example 06/2023 & 07/2023) that were both included in a Chapter 7 BK? All my other BK'd accounts show: Date Updated, Date Reported, or Last Updated as 2020 or 2021.
Reason why I'm asking is because I was looking at both my "annualcreditreport.com" and "myFICO" reports and I have two PENFED accounts that shows updates of 06/2023 and 07/2023 and are labelled:
Date Updated on TransUnion 07/2023
Date Reproted on Equifax 07/2023
Last Updated on myFICO 06/2023
Just wondering if this is nothing to worry about. Or...since they are the only two showing recent updates, if I should submit a dispute to EQ and TU?
Thoughts? And thank you for any insights.
Probably wont change much with a BK on file. Question is when was the actual file date. No negs can be placed on your reports after that date. If it is the case. Dispute it. But it wont change much. Still BK law violation. And you could notify your lawyer of this violation also. $1000 fine.

Thank you for your insights @FireMedic1. That's just what I was wondering. If disputing would make a difference, and if I've left FICO pts on the table.
I guess the good thing is that both accounts do show "included in bankruptcy." Do you think it worthwhile to pursue a dispute?
TransUnion Annual Credit Report Shows:
Account Status: Included in bankruptcy
Date Opened: July 11, 2017
Date Reported: July 7, 2023
Deliquency First Reported: Apr 2019
BK Filed: Apr 2020
Equifax Annual Credit Report Shows:
Pay Status: Account Included in Bankruptcy
Date Updated: 07/07/2023
Last Payment Made: 02/26/2019
Remarks: Chapter 7 Bankruptcy: Purchased by another lender
BK Filed: Apr 2020
Edit: corrected Experian to Equifax
Really. The BK will out live the lates. They are listed after the file date. You can send a letter into the CRA's with your file date copy. Lates were placed after the file date. Not allowed. Either or. Its principle. JMO.

I guess I'll mull it over a bit longer. Again, appreciate your input.

No problem. Good luck on whatever you decide.
@mortimerwereback I would leave the BK accounts alone. If you dispute the reported date will move forward time. The credit might re-report all the BK accounts. Who is reporting the BK account(s) as current MYFICO or Annual Credit Report?

Appreciate your feedback @AndySoCal! That was my fear also, however, I just submitted both disputes so I guess we shall see. Both myFICO and Annual Credit Report show the two Penfed accounts with current reporting dates. Both PenFed accounts are labelled with the correct Dishchared in Bk or Bankruptcy descriptions. The only difference with these two accounts is that unlike the other bk'd accounts which all have dates as 2020 or 2021, these two show July 2023 as reporting.
I figure they can't make the date any more current since they're both current for this month and so I after discussing a bit more with @FireMedic1 I thought it best I submit the disputes. I'd geniunely be surprised if my asking to roll those dates back resulted in EQ and TU changing dates on all the other bk'd accounts.
But to your point... we can't control the person making the changes or the bureaus so it's really just a hoping for the best situation. Wish me luck!
Date Updated on TransUnion 07/2023
Date Reproted on Equifax 07/2023
Last Updated on myFICO 06/2023
Edit: Added how the TU and EQ accts are labelled.
