Credit Score Lower

Hello everyone!

I recently got two charge off accounts and three collections taken off my credit report. I still have a few more to go but my score actually decreased in points. I figured that I would not get a huge jump since I still have derogartory things on my credit report and it factors in to the credit history length but I didn't think that I would actually drop in points. Do you think it just takes a while to recalculate or am I going to have to wait for my accounts to age again since those dropped off?

Re: Credit Score Lower

We need much more detail to comment, but in general a CO/CA is a bad derog - so even though you may have addressed some of them, the presence of others is still extremely penal score wise. I didn't see a big score boost until I addressed them all - at least settled them.

Curious what COs you had taken off, with who, and for what reason.

I doubt that having negatives removed from your credit report caused a score decrease. I think something else caused it.

Re: Credit Score Lower

It could have. We just don’t have enough detail, like @TheKid2 said. You could have been re-assigned to a recent scorecard much would cause a drop. The COs may not have been updating recently, so the TPOD penalty may have outweighed any utilization benefit, there’s just too many factors with not enough information.
