Credit Score differences

Has this happened tom anyone.  The wife and I ran  our credit scores before leasing a car.  Experian had us at 710 and 675 respectively.  When the dealership ran our credit report, they came up with 595 and 608.  Do they crunch the scores again thru some underwriting software?

Did you pull your EX scores from the Experian website? If so, it's likely that those scores were ScorexPlus-based or Vantage-based scores, not FICO scores. Do you know which CRA the dealership pulled scores from? He may have pulled a FICO score from EQ, EX, or TU, or he may have pulled an auto-enhanced FICO score from any of the three CRAs. So there's six possible reasons why the numbers didn't match.

Also, how much time elapsed between the day you pulled scores and the day the dealership pulled scores? It's possible something changed on one or more of the CRAs' reports in between those two dates.

Re: Credit Score differences

We pulled our scores from freecreditreport.com. Dealer pulled auto enhanced from EX and TU. We pulled them two days before we went to the dealer.

Re: Credit Score differences

In addition, there are also auto-specific FICO scores that (I believe) weigh installment credit and, in particular, auto loans more heavily. So your score under one of these reports wouldn't match up to what you got from myFICO.com exactly.

(I'd love to be able to see my score on alternate scorecards, but maybe that's just me. I'm more likely to buy a new car than a house.)

Re: Credit Score differences

why get a credit report from experian and pay a monthly fee when  they lie to you  they give you a great report  and behind you they screw you
you pay you get what you  pay
they nothing more thn a rip off joint and any credit repot company that dont provide you with  scorex plus is ripping you off  you should immediatly contact state attoirneys office  your congressman woman  and have them either go to jail or pay a stiff fine
believe me this is fraud and they will have to pay or go to jail
