DCU fico score

Got my Fico score from DCU and from what a member told me they use FICO 5 my score was 644Smiley Sad But from what I seen these formulas consider medical collections more heavier than other versions correct? I do have one medical collection that I have already gotten off of EXP just waiting on EQ and TU.

Re: DCU fico score

Have you grabbed your free EX FICO 08 from creditscorecard.com yet?  It would be interesting to compare the two if you haven't yet.

Great idea about pulling your three FICO 8 scores.  Costs a buck at CCT.  I'd do it on the exact same day that the DCU pull was done (DCU should be able to tell you when their score is done).

We can help you better if we understand your goals.  For example, are you hoping to apply for a DCU product?  Some loan or CC with someone other than DCU?  What loans/cards and when?

Have you paid all cards to zero except one with the remaining card reporting a small balance?  That's a good baseline for what you can hope for, though your desire to get derogs completely removed is very wise.

Re: DCU fico score

Thank you both. Yes my latest score from scorecard was 682 but that is from 2/9 so it should update very soon. I have a 706 which was just updated directly from Experian.
Right now so am I just trying to improve my scores they were in the mid 500s last summer so I am very pleased at the moment with that.
My utilization is around 19% so I plan on paying off some of my cards as I have a few with zero balances and others that have a small balances. I just want to continue to raise scores. I don't have any immediate plans for any purchases or loans just want to keep improving my scores for the future.

DCU gives the Equifax mortgage score.

Re: DCU fico score

It should be fun to track your EQ mortgage score (supplied by DCU) against your EQ FICO 8.  But in general you should be placing more weight on the FICO 8 scores -- unless you think you will buy a house in the next two years.  If that becomes likely, watch both; otherwise focus more on FICO 8.

And be sure you are looking at FICO 8 scores from all three bureaus.

Most of all, watch your reports.  Reports are free, the EX FICO 8 is free, the TU FICO 8 is obtainable free through many credit cards, and all three bureaus are obtainable via the occasional pull at CCT.

Re: DCU fico score

Thanks. Yes I am able to get FICO 8 from EXP and TU for freeSmiley Happy It was EQ that I can't access for free but as another poster told me DCU was the Fico 5. I don't plan on purchasing or refinancing in the near future so it will be interesting to see how the scores compare. I will probably buy an EQ once my CLIs and lower balances report. And hopefully the medical collection will be removed from EQ and TU , EXP has already removed. Of course back in the old days I seem to remember "disputed" accounts weren't factored into scoring but don't know if that is still the case as the collection is under dispute with EQ. But it will be fun to see what my scores can be in a few monthsSmiley Happy

DCU pulls on the last friday of each month. So 3/30, 4/27, 5/25 should be the next 3 dates. They are a little less consistent on the time of day.

Re: DCU fico score

What's weird is that I've read and been told DCU pulls EQ 5 but when I applied for their auto loan/CC/membership they pulled EX which is good since it's my highest score but thought they would pull EQ.

Re: DCU fico score

Maybe they provide an EQ score, but pull EX for apps?  Some creditors like Amex pull the same bureau for apps that they use to provide customers with a monthly score.  Then you've got others like Discover that provide a TU score, but most frequently pull EQ.
