DP's on Utilization

Hey all, just wanted to share some interesting data points on recent changes to my utilization that some people may find useful. It lends credence to the understanding of total & individual utilization. The situation is as follows; my EX Fico 8 was recently 668. Utilization was sitting at 40% overall, between two cards. One had a $4500 limit, one has $500. The lower limit card was at $411/$500, and I was just waiting for Chase to report since I had just paid the card down. When the report hit Experian, my score went up 35 points. The overall utilization dropped to 32%, so not a major jump. However, now I only had one card reporting a balance, 35% utilization, weighed against that 8% change in overall utilization. I know that there are probably other contributing factors, however, I thought I'd share.

Re: DP's on Utilization

You got a number of things happening here.

You had aggregate utilization of 40% which crossed the 8.9% and 28.9% thresholds then you had the single card cross the 28.9%, 48.9% and 68.9% utilization thresholds.

Your other card should provide another boost when it gets down from 35.6% to 28.9% as well.

Re: DP's on Utilization

The aggregate had actually just come down from 92%, but it was stationary a 668. From 668 to 703 the only two things that changed were the aggregate crossing 38.9 as well as the thresholds on the single $500 limit card. I know the other things going on, just wanted to share since it was a pretty significant jump.
