Hi new to the boards, I've been trying to raise my scores and have in the last 2 months raised them 30 points! Anyways..I had a question, is there a general date for when to check for my new credit score? Or maybe around the date? I just made two major payments and I'm wondering when I should pull my score for the changes on my report ..thanks!
yes i was also wondering when i can expect to see my next FICO score post? I bought the Score Watch and nothing has posted since August 12th, i would think it should be around every 30 days is this not correct?
FICO scores are dynamic. As your reported credit accounts change & age, FICO continuously recalculates. So, the questions isn't when your FICO score will update, but when do your current creditors report to the credit reporting agencies?
Different creditors have different reporting dates. As a general rule of thumb, within a few days after the statement drops the CRAs usually have the updated balance information. BUT, some creditors report on a certain day of the month. Some report on the statement date, and so on. For example, I know that BoA will report the day after the statement drops. BUT, if I've received a CLI, or sometimes just because they can, they might report mid-cycle as well. I have a Target store card that reports on *exactly* the 22nd of ever month. I have a GEMB card that reports at the end of the every month, but the exact date can't be pinned down. Three other cards, the date varies, but is dependent upon the statement drop date, so I can always pin it down. Additionally, I've figured out that Experian seems to have the updates a couple of days ahead of EQ & TU.
All that being said, don't pull until your creditors have updated the CRAs, and those updates are being reflected. The fun part, is figuring out WHEN those updates are being reflected.
Some creditors (AMEX comes to mind), report a month behind. One of my Credit unions do too. Some report irregularly-- I can't think of one off the top of my head, but I do recall a discussion of a major lender that would sometimes go a few months without reporting, and then suddenly 'catch up'. I know that Juni/Barclay's used to do that on occasion, but I don't think that was the one discussed. Sometimes, the creditors have updated their tapes, but their feeds to the CRAs haven't been replicated in the CRA systems yet.

So that being said how can 40 days go by with out some if not every one reporting from the last billing cycle?
Just wait for 4 to 6 weeks to be sure. Depends on what kind of account you made your payment, e. g. revolving, installment, how they are reported, etc
Also don't pull your credit too often ...

What changed on your EQ report that would have caused a score change?
