Did any scoring rules change on New Years?

General question for the forum....

On Dec. 29th my DH got a Score Watch alert that his EQ score was 784.

Today, Jan 2nd, he got a new alert that it had dropped to 739.

We pulled a full Score Watch report to make sure nothing bad had hit his report. Nothing new. No new balances. No new accounts. No late payments or anything else negative. No balance increases. Made me wonder if any of the aspects of scoring had changed with the new year.

Anyone else have this happen?

Weird ~ did his AAoA possibly hit a milestone, maybe resulting in rebucketing ?

I will take a look at that. If that were the case, that's a heck of a penalty for rebucketing.

Yeah I agree ~ 45 points is pretty harsh. But if it is due to rebucketing then he may be eligible for the 800 club now.....

Did anything drop? Are the # of accounts still the same?

Re: Did any scoring rules change on New Years?

Thanks everyone. I will do what I advise others to do....go over everything with a fine tooth comb. On first pass I don't see anything that changed....but I will check for sure.

The sad part is that he has already been in the 800 club....810 to be exact. Used to be at 1% utilization, but we are at 26% utilization right now, which is what caused the drop from the 810 to the 784. This report still states the utilization at 26%. That will be gone soon, and I hoped he'd go back into the 800+.....but likely not if he has to start back in the 730's.

I don't usually get concerned over score gyrations and can usually follow the reasoning, but this one was pretty drastic. I was curious if something has changed overall with scoring....but apparently not. It must be individual. We'll just wait it out....which is about all you can do with FICO.
