I have been an long time lurker in the forums, been learning an lot try to resurrect my credit. I was looking at transunion fico scores i got from walmart seemed kind of low compared to my equifax fico, so i decided to buy the TU fico score from myfico. How come there is such an discrepency from the two TU fico scores. I thought ten points would be as much as they would differ, but when i checked my scores the walmart TU fico and myfico TU fico differed by over 110 points how is that possible? Which TU fico is closer to the ones that most lenders/cc use?
Wow, I think that is the biggest difference I have seen.
I know Walmart uses the 08, which is beginning to be used a lot but not as much as 04 version. Here it is the 98 version.
Which was higher?
walmart, whom uses an 08 version, is an lot lower. I think the problem they said i had was not enough accounts open. The one that myfico sells TU score also showed that i had not enough credit accounts open, but they didn't seem to punish me as badly for that. I was shocked when i saw the two scores, and their differentials.
I also checked my usaa monitoring account , i know they gave you an fako score, but it was much closer to the my fico tu fico score. I guess i will just have to be patient and pay everything and garden ?
I too have never seen that much of a difference in FICO versions. I'm going to write this one down for future references.
I was looking over my credit report , I am thinking maybe one version reports the au accounts , and the other one doesn't could that be why the huge discrepancies?
I am pretty sure they both report AUs. Even if one didn't I don't think there would be that large of a difference for an AU account.
well , i am at an loss at why the huge discrepncies, i just checked the walmart fico score again. I thought maybe i misread the numbers, but i was correct the first time. Still an huge difference. The only reason i thought about the AU being an factor was the fact that they stated reason for low score was not enough open accounts.
I know when the 08 version first came out they were not going to count AUs. But then they decided they would be counted.
My scores are different too
MyFico TU98 - 690
Walmart TU08 - 600
almost 90 points, I'm curious to see how what my TU04 score would be

For me they were saying I didn't have enough accounts reporting. I think I have four or five accounts reporting ,but two are au maybe that has something to do with it. I am not sure to be honest.
