Does Credit Karma using a new scoring method?

I use Credit Karma on a monthly basis and I used to find there scoring was pretty dead on with my actual TU score. When I logged in this am I noticed they changed there site and are now using the Vantage Score which as everyone knows is always way higher than what your actual score is. Why would they change it? Does anyone actually pay attention to their vantage score?

Mine is still the other one (I think ck is funded by TU, hence all the commercials and hype for members). So mine is 30 pts lower, and the vantage on a separate tab.

Of course, it is NOW undergoing maintenance, so who knows what it will look like today.

If they switch to VantageScore I'm closing my account there

not in a protest, just because it is useless

The score was useless  before. The monitoring is better than myfico's. Why close it?
