I'm about 16 months out from a chapter 7 and am working hard to rebuild my scores. Since the BK I have opened two (low-limit) CCs (balance paid in full every month), so obviously in regards to these accounts, the average age of my accounts is low. However, what is included in age of accounts, closed accounts in good standing (prior to BK), discharged accounts (albeit derogatory)..??
Thanks!
Any existing account that is included in your CR, open or closed, counts in your AAoA calculation.

That's not entirely correct. OC collectons are part of AAoA but not CA collections. That's because the OC account is a TL of the consumer and the CA account is a contract between the OC and CA. and therefore is not a TL of the consumer.
From a BK years ago to:
9/09 EX pulled by lender 802
3/10 EQ- 800
6/10 TU -772
You can do the same thing with hard work

Marinevet, I agree totally!
And good point!
I was referring only to OC accounts, but unfortunately, did not say so.'
OC accounts are between the consumer and the creditor. Those are legally contracted acounts.
No consumer ever has an "account" with a debt collector.
CA "accounts" are strictly reporting mechanisms between the debt collector and the CRA to get things posted to your CR.
They never enter into AAoA. They never report monthly delinquencies,
